 UP (2009)

Ladies and gentlemen, Pixar has done it again! They have taken a seemingly silly and childish plot and turned it into an amazing movie for all ages! The story of UP centers around Carl Fredrickson and his lifelong dream to adventure to a place in South America called Paradise Falls. When he is on the verge of being taken to live in a retirement community he decides to float his house down south with the aid of thousands of colorful balloons. But after the house takes flight, the real adventure is just beginning. With Wilderness Explorer scout Russell, a talking dog named Dug and mysterious bird named Kevin, Carl has his hands full. The movie isn’t all fun and laughs though, there is a sad side to it as well. In my opinion it just makes the whole thing more wonderful and memorable for audiences of all ages. This is a phenomenal movie, not to be missed.  See it in RealD 3D if you can, it’s worth the price of admission.

WALL-E (2008)

Wow! I can't even begin to describe how simply amazing this movie really is! I went in expecting to see yet another cute Disney Pixar movie, but what I got was so much more! This is hands down, the best animated movie of 2008. It would easily make my list of the best animated movies of all time. It's a great story about a futuristic world, where human beings live in a giant space ship, and the planet Earth is left to trash disposing robots, of whom the only one left is WallE. When WallE makes a new friend named Eve, it's up to the two of them to save the world! This movie is a MUST SEE for the entire family! HIghly, highly, highly recomended! Take your kids, take your grandparents, everyone will love this movie!

Captain: I don't want to survive, I want to live!

Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs (2008)

Loved it! It wasn't quite as good as the first Futurama movie (Bender's Big Score) or for that matter, as good as the original series, but it wasn't bad. I felt that the relationship between Fry and Leela could have been played up a bit more. It was a cute story line with some great quotes, but the ending left something to be desired. A must see for Futurama fans, as long as you keep in mind that it's NOT the original series.

Favorite Line:

Fry: Well, I went to another Universe and fell in love with a giant octopus; and now I'm Pope of a new religion.
